Help us Help Gherkin and Frankie Girl!

We're known as the organization that will stop at nothing to give these precious souls the second chance they deserve; that reputation exists because of amazing and compassionate donors like you who believe in our mission. Lately we've taken in some horrible cases, one right after the other, and it's our responsibility to give them a shot at experiencing the beauty of a safe and healthy existence. There are two little broken angels we'd like to introduce to you:

First, meet Gherkin:

Through her connections, Cassady became aware of Gherkin's situation and knew immediately that we needed to get involved to provide him the best care possible. A beautiful supermodel of a pup, he came to us with horribly broken legs - both the back right leg and front left leg. Our Clinic Manager viewed the x-rays in utter disbelief, astounded and horrified that one of his breaks is at a 90-degree angle. Gherkin has some of the most badly broken bones we've ever seen. Because the breaks are severe and on both sides, it will make his healing journey a lot longer. Bruising and abrasions on his face lead us to believe that he was most likely hit by a car. The hope is that his legs can be repaired using plates so he can keep all 4 limbs; a procedure such as this requires the expertise of a specialty surgeon. The surgeons do believe he has a good prognosis and should be able to make a full recovery. The quote to help Gherkin is estimated at $12,000.

Next up is Frankie Girl:

Gazing through exhausted, bloodshot eyes, Frankie Girl suffers from a scleral hematoma. This condition is caused by a traumatic injury, a clotting disorder, and/or strangulation. As horrible as it sounds, our doctors believe this tiny girl was either choked by a person or could have been tied up and accidentally choked herself. If only dogs could talk and she could tell us her story. Tiny in stature and weighing in at just 11 pounds, it's baffling to us why she would've ever needed to be tied up. As if it couldn't get any worse than that she also has a broken femur. In order to fix that break and keep her leg she'll need a specialty surgery for that as well. The only thing that eases her pain is giving kisses with her puppy breath and being held and cuddled. The quote for her surgery is estimated at $4,500.

Gherkin and Frankie Girl are both receiving the care and love they deserve, but they still need you as they heal. These are just two of the animals currently in our care and the cost to provide the care they need is in upwards of $16,000. Their lives are equally important as anyone else’s and we vow to give them a life free of the pain and suffering that engulfs them now. Even while in physical agony and scared of what will come with their next breath, they look to us for help and have showed nothing but pure sweetness. They, like countless others roaming the streets, tied up, trapped, or stranded, are out there awaiting the safe haven and second chance that Stray Rescue provides. From the bottom of our hearts, we could never thank you enough for always stepping up and standing right by our side as we continue to be the voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. We are asking for your help once again as they need us all now more than ever.

Will you help us help them? Five and ten dollar gifts add up, there is no gift too small.
